Third Grade Overview

May 18 - 24

The Third Grade End of Year Party is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21st, at Hamilton Skate Place from 1-3. Parents are welcome to attend AND skate!


Math: We have been working our way through Module 4 in Unit 7. This is our final unit for math in third grade. In this unit we are building on previously learned information. We will be integrating different concepts such as multiplication, division, and fractions. Students will be working through multi-step problems and determining which operation to use. The test for unit 7 is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 20th.


Social Studies: Students will continue their unit on states and capitals. Students will wrap up this unit with the “Southern States.” The test date for this unit is Monday, May 20th.  


We will be having themed days each day this week!


Monday - Making Memories Monday! Students will work on memory books!


Tuesday - Theater Tuesday! Students will have different Reader’s Theater scripts and will create props and other needed items to perform skits throughout the day. EOY Party in the afternoon. Students may wear civilian clothes on this day that will be comfortable to skate in!


Wednesday - Wacky Wednesday! Students will rotate through different classrooms and play different board games! Please have your child bring 1-3 different board games to play throughout the day! Make sure your games are labeled.


Thursday - Beaches and Books! Bring a beach towel and books for a final day of reading before summer reading begins in June! We will also be sending home all student items this day! Please send a bag or clean out their backpack!


Friday - Final Friday! This is a half day! Dismiss at 11:30!


NOTES: 

  • It can be cold in our classrooms. Please make sure that your child has an appropriate sweater or sweatshirt (BBS logo on the front) to wear in the classroom. ***Please make sure to label your child’s jacket/sweater/sweatshirt. 

  • Don’t forget to send in a snack and water bottle each day. Water bottles need to be screw on tops labeled with their name.

  • Please do not take things out of their binder pockets or “return” side without returning them. We will be using those items in class on a daily basis. This also includes interactive notebooks.
