Scott grew up in Madeira Beach, Florida, attending private Christian schools until he attended Bryan College in Dayton, TN, after high school. He entered the business world and shifted to the medical field. After receiving his exercise science degree from UTC, Scott worked as an exercise physiologist in cardiac rehab for nearly 14 years before being inspired to teach in public education. Completing the requirements for a teaching degree from UTC and completing his MEd, Scott has served as an administrator and taught all levels of school in the public education system for nearly a decade. Feeling it was time to move into private education, he joined BBS in the 2021-2022 school year. In addition to his educational roles, Scott has been involved in church ministry for nearly twenty years, serving as a children’s and youth volunteer, youth pastor, and senior pastor.
Outside life extends beyond his professional achievements. He is a dedicated family man and an active member of Citizen’s Church. Together with his wife, Amanda, they host a weekly multi-generational life group. Their family, which they take immense pride in, is a testament to their love and commitment. They have two exceptional children, Conner and Kenzie. Conner, a graduate of The McCallie School, is currently pursuing his Master’s degree at Tennessee Wesleyan University. Kenzie, a graduate of Girls Preparatory School, is about to embark on her senior year at Berry College, preparing to close this chapter in her academic journey before moving on to graduate school to pursue a medical degree.
Scott and Amanda live in East Ridge, are constantly remodeling their older home, and breed Siberian Huskies. Scott likes to read, watch, play, and coach sports (particularly lacrosse) and spend time with his family and dogs.
