Rebecca relocated to Chattanooga in 2009 to pursue her education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Early Elementary Education in 2014. She began her teaching career at Brainerd Baptist School that same year. She later furthered her studies at Carson Newman University, earning a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a reading emphasis.

During her time at UTC, Rebecca not only fell in love with Chattanooga but also her husband. They have been married since 2014 and are proud parents to three boys: Rhett (4), Sutton (2), and Whittaker (2 months). They are active members at Brainerd Baptist Church.

Rebecca and her family enjoy spending quality time together tent camping, exploring national parks, hiking, visiting bookstores, and playing with their three-legged dog, Pogo.
