B. S. - University of Mississippi

Lauren was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN. She graduated from Silverdale Baptist Academy where she attended from 6th through 12th grade. For college, she attended the University of Mississippi and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She started her teaching career at Regents School of Oxford in Oxford, MS where she taught Second Grade for two years. In June of 2023, Lauren married her high school sweetheart, Evan Coughlin. The couple decided to move back to Chattanooga in the Summer of 2024 to be closer to family and friends.

Lauren grew up playing tennis and coached Middle and High School tennis for three years with her husband while living in Oxford, MS. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and pickleball, visiting with friends and family, reading, and spending time with her golden retriever. Lauren is overjoyed to join the First Grade team at Brainerd Baptist and is so excited to spend her third year teaching with her new students in the fall!

One of her favorite Bible verses is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
