April Connell, Spanish Teacher
April was raised in Chattanooga by a family of teachers from whom she inherited her love for instructing children. After graduating from GPS, April went on to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she majored in Spanish, which included a semester of studying abroad in Puebla, Mexico. After completing a student-teaching internship at the McCallie Middle School, April taught elementary Spanish at St. Paul Christian Academy in Nashville, TN.
She has spent time traveling through Spain & Puerto Rico, serving in Guatemala with Brainerd Baptist Church, and studying with fellow Spanish educators through immersion programs in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, & Northern Spain. She is extremely blessed to be the mother of Brody, and she enjoys traveling, yoga, exploring the outdoors & God's word. The Bible verse most dear to her spirit is John 3:30. “He must become greater; I must become less.”
